SXSW Tech Report: Highlight App Provides a “Sixth Sense” To Your Social Life

Last week, I told you guys all about the Uber app, which is getting lots of buzz here at SXSW. Now, I gotta tell you all about another app that’s also getting people talking around Austin – Highlight.

Highlight works sort of like a personal social assistant, helping you navigate all the people around you. When you’re in the type of business I am in, meeting tons of new people everyday, Highlight can be a godsend! For instance, have you ever been at a party, and someone you might have met a week ago approaches you, but you can’t for the life of you remember their name or put them into context? No worries, Highlight has your back! And all those other people at the party? Highlight will tell you who else in there that you know, and if someone you haven’t met yet is in the room and is also using Highlight, the app will tell you what you have in common with that person, providing a perfect opening for introducing yourself and starting a conversation!

In the fast-based business world – and the entertainment industry in particular – sometimes you just need to cut to the chase, and Highlight helps you get straight to the people you need to know and talk to! Additionally, if you’re, say, hanging out at your local Starbucks and someone you’ve been trying to get a hold of happens to be in the building next door, Highlight will let you know and you can catch him/her face-to-face, eliminating all that pesky phone-tag!
