POWERMAT: The Future in Wireless Technology

With the introduction of so many new smart phones and other techie devices, we are going have to start dealing with a lot more wires. As we know, they can be a hassle, not to mention unsightly.

Coming to our aide in a time of need, the kind people at Powermat USA have taken a big step in the war on wires with their Powermat wireless charging dock. Instead of needing to have a wire and an outlet for every single one of your little iPhones and Nintendo DS's, now you can just to drop them onto the Powermat, and away they go! No wires! (Well, except for the one that the Powermat uses.)

Still in the early days of the wireless-charging game, the Powermat still has some growing up to do. You have to buy a wireless receiver for any devices you want to use with the Powermat, but they are working to eventually have the receiver's built into the devices themselves.

Even so, I think the Powermat is a technology that we will be seeing a lot more of in the near future. Someday just by placing your laptop or other device on a desk or coffee table, the device will start to charge. And we will never have deal with the outrage caused by the sight of another disgusting, rotten, nauseating wire.
