When you mix six masked men with rock and hip hop, you get Los Angeles-based group Hollywood Undead. Charlie Scene, Da Kurlzz, Danny, Funny Man, J-Dog, and Johnny 3 Tears make up Southern California’s hottest rap metal group. They have a sound influenced by Linkin Park and Good Charlotte, but make no mistake these guys have a unique spin of their own and can master multiple styles of music.
After Hollywood Undead premiered on the scene with their first album Swan Songs in 2008, they became an instant hit, and the album has sold of 800,000 copies world wide, steadily approaching the Platinum Title. On April 5th, Hollywood Undead released their sophomore studio album American Tragedy, which peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 in the US.
American Tragedy focuses on the harsh realities of life, especially in LaLaLand, as loss of faith, addiction, and other factors leave the dreams of many Hollywood hopefuls shattered on the ground. According to their website, “It's a middle finger to the safe, burdensome 'norm', and it's the future of heavy pop...” The single “Hear Me Now” instantly topped the iTunes Rock Chart at #2 within a couple days of its release, proof these guys are meant to be on top.
