2009: The Year of Gaga

Well it's been a memorable year for a lot of reasons, and even more it's been a memorable decade. We've lost many talented artists that we've grown to love and gained even more. While looking back for a yearly wrap-up, nobody stands out more as an icon to the scene of 2009 than Lady Gaga.

Just a year ago this pop phenomenon was an opening act. Now think of how far she's come. We interviewed her before the success hit and just knew she had that special something to be a star. With her eccentric performances and lavish costumes, she really delivered a year's full of memorable moments.

So I don't think I'm off base in labeling 2009 as "The Year of Gaga." From The Fame to The Fame Monster and then onto the epic Monster Ball Tour, Gaga has surprised and entertained legions of fans all over the world. As we bring in the new year, and new decade, there's no telling what she has in store for us next. But we can be sure it will be something to talk about.
