Back in January, we reported that Fox was strongly hinting that the beloved sci-fi drama, “The X-Files” would soon be making a comeback. It turns out those rumors are true -- “The X-Files” will indeed return!
The series will hit our screens as a “series event” with six episodes. Production is set to begin this summer, and both Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) will be back on board, while the creator of the series, Chris Carter, will helm the project. The plot of the series has not been revealed, but Carter has hinted that, as “the world has only gotten that much stranger”, there will be plenty of material for the new series.
The original “X-Files” followed FBI special agents Mulder and Scully as they investigated paranormal and unexplainable cases. The pair delightfully teased one another and had a classic will-they-or-won’t they relationship. The series later went on to win 16 Emmys and remains a favorite among sci-fi fans.
I still have no idea as to what exactly an “X-Files” reboot will look like, but I still stand by my hope for aliens with evil iPhones.
