What Do Golden Globes, Guidos, and 'Gifts' Spell? Award Show Season, Duh!

Unlike most of us who have almost a whole year to recover and seek professional help (mom!) before we get sucked back into holiday drama and nonsense, the real "holiday season" in Hollywood has only just begun. Yes, award show season is in full-swing, commencing with Sunday's Golden Globes and ending in March with the mother of all award shows: The Oscaahhs.

This time of year seems to give everyone in town license to be a big, fat diva and in no other setting is the inner diva better catered to than at award season gifting and hospitality suites. For those of you wondering what exactly a gifting suite is, you're not alone, as they are a phenomena pretty much exclusive to the entertainment industry during award show season. They're basically invite-only boutiques of swag and beauty treatments provided by various brands and businesses who gift their products and services to the celebs and their consorts who attend. The catch? The distribution of the media's photos taken at the suites, which gives those brands the ever-so-valuable publicity that comes with having a celebrity pictured with its product. Why pony up for ads or celeb endorsements when you can just 'gift'? It is brilliant; whoever hatched this scheme up is one clever queen.

Well, yours truly got a chance partake in the gifting frenzy that took place over the weekend in honor of the Golden Globes, hitting up THE Hospitality Suite presented by Live Loyal PR and EMC BOWERY at the Hollywood Hills home of jeweler to the stars, Pascal Mouawad. With everything from G2 Lifestyles fitness products and Rose Taft gowns, to OPI manis and professional blow-outs, this gifting/hospitality suite had something for everyone to indulge their diva. Many of TV's most recognizable personalities came out to the suite to mingle and get them some VIP treatment.

But the highlight (at least for me!) has to be the appearance of America's new golden children: the entire cast of "Jersey Shore." The guidos and guidettes showed up in all their Ed Hardy-adoring regalia, looking tanner and more bedazzled than ever. True to form, The Situation made a beeline for the G2 fitness products (GTL!), explaining how he needed to get his lower obliques "juicy for the ladies," while my girl Snooki swigged champagne and picked out Valerie Beverly Hills makeup.

Jersey Shore sweeps the suite. How fierce are Pauly D and Vinny here?!

Sadly, there was no fist pumping and Snickers was sans-poof! What's up with that, girl? Shnooks, if you're reading this, please bring back that magnificent poof only a true guid-ess like yourself can achieve.
