In Hollywood, dress-up is all about the award shows. Everyday life, even in front of the cameras, is all about being casual. To get the look, Jessica Simpson, Lauren Conrad, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Tyra Banks, Katherine Heigl, Nicole Richie, Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens and many more celebs love to Primp. Now their tween counterparts like ‘The Game Plan’ star Madison Pettis are Primping, too!
Co-owner/designer Wells Butler talked to me about the brand, emerging trends and how to revamp your wardrobe:
“We recently launched a tween line called 'Primp Girl'” Wells tells me. “Adults loved 'Primp' for its fashion forward and comfy styles, and [this line features] the same comfortable style. The 'Primp Girl' is someone who has fun with fashion, a girl that loves color and sets trends.”

To launch the line, they’re looking for a spokesmodel -- and it could be you! “We decided to do a national model search for the face of 'Primp Girl' because we wanted to give every girl from the biggest city to the smallest town the opportunity to represent the brand,” Wells says. To get your foot on the runway, dial up itsprimp.com and peep the National Model Search section. Guys are getting in on the action too. I (very selfishly) asked if she planned to cover the opposite sex, to which she replied: “Your wish has been granted! Primp men's is in the pipeline. We will be doing a full retail launch for Fall 2010. I will definitely get you some!” Yah, I know, my job is tough you guys! Interviewing awesome, talented people and getting cute stuff *BIG SIGH* It’s a living. Let’s not joke around, though, there’s a serious situation I needed to address with Wells before I could let her go. While we all love to shop and get new things, IN THIS ECONOMY we can’t all rush out and get a new wardrobe. Yet, one can’t wear the same thing every single day. Big problem. Huge. “My tips for revamping a wardrobe on a budget are to shop vintage,” Wells suggests. “Fashion trends go in cycles and every decade of fashion comes back in style.” For example, she says: “You can get '80's inspired looks straight from the runway for under $30 at flea markets and great vintage stores. You can get one or two key trend driven pieces like a blazer with shoulder pads or a neon belt for low prices. Fun pieces like these will make fashion forward but budget friendly additions to your wardrobe.” Primp Girl is now at Macy's, Dillard's, Bon Ton, Belks, and at select stores listed on itsprimp.com.
Wes Ferguson plans to be the face of Primp Male, he’ll just need a new face first. He’s a contributing writer for Entertainment Tonight online, the Examiner.com and runs his own Hollywood lifestyle blog, Betterby30.net
