The magic of Twilight was all in the hair. I know I'm a little preoccupied with Robert Patinson's lovely locks I suggested he becomes a hair model but beyond my obsession, fact is, just about everyone in the cast had rather dramatic hair makeovers.

It all started with good color. The first step towards RPatz and Kristen Stewart getting into character was a good dye job, as they'd both had colors from previous films. Because the characters were already so well known, the stylists had to be true to the books and makeover the actors to fit the part physically.

To find the perfect shade, the Twilight hair stylists used a secret weapon. Wigs!

Using various wigs to match the right color to the actor's complexion, they found the desired look and then selected dyes to match. Pick up this trick if you want to change your hair more than a few shades, take a snapshot and show your stylist the exact color you want!

Dramatic changes require a professional. Trust, one time I let a friend give me what was supposed to be subtle highlights - and the entire top of my head turned school bus yellow. Darks are even harder to fix. Don't do it yourself!

As far as products go, keep it simple. Smooth long hair out with a straight iron and use a nice texture cream that works for your hair type, with a light spray to keep it from frizzing.

If you want to give your hair-challenged boyfriend an Edward Cullen special, try multi-layered highlights dubbed twilights by the grooming crew that begin about a quarter inch from the root. Style with Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray and Black & White pomade, which RPatz himself suggested to the movie's style crew, since that's what he uses.
