Get out your Team Edward (or Team Jacob!) shirts, Twihards! After a year and a half of waiting, finally the latest installment of the Twilight saga is about to hit theatres! Taking a page from the Harry Potter movies, Twilight: Breaking Dawn, will be split into two films. Part One will be released November 18!

The romantic vampire series written by Stephenie Meyer has created an all out phenomenon. Not only has the book series become one of the most popular of all time, but the movies have grossed more than $1.8 billion worldwide so far! It has also made Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson household names!

The release of Breaking Dawn is just around the corner. To tide you over until then, here are some of the best on-screen moments from the Twilight series so far! If you haven't seen the movies or read the books yet -- where have you been? -- you might want to stop reading here. Spoilers ahead!

 

Bella and Edward Meet For The First Time:

 

 

It is hardly romantic when Bella and Edward meet for the first time in biology class -- Edward can barely stand to be around her! This strange encounter, however, is the beginning of Bella and Edward's complicated love story.

 

Edward Sparkles:

 

 

Bella has just told Edward that she knows he is a vampire. He tries to warn her against him, but she refuses to listen. Edward then shows Bella his skin in the sunlight -- he sparkles! The imagery of the woods, along with the intense musical score, makes this scene especially powerful!

 

The Baseball Game: 

 

 

What begins as a fun scene between Bella and the Cullens quickly turns into a dangerous situation. Vampires Victoria, Laurent, and James interrupt the baseball game and take note of Bella. This scene shifts the tone of the move instantly, and Bella's survival becomes the only concern.

 

Any Time Jacob Doesn't Wear A Shirt: 

 

 

Whether Jacob is warming Bella up with his werewolf body heat in Eclipse, or if it is the iconic rain scene in New Moon, Jacob always seems to do best without his shirt on! When Bella is desperate to know why Jacob has been avoiding her, she finds him to demand answers. Jacob, shirtless in the pouring rain, has cut off all his hair and has a tattoo. This scene showcases the tension between them as well as their clear emotional bond. 

 

Bella Saves Edward From The Volturi: 

 

 

When Edward believes Bella is dead, he goes to Italy to be killed by the Volturi (vampire royalty). He risks exposure to humans by stepping into the sun in public -- a move that would show his sparkling skin! Bella flies to Italy and manages to save Edward just in time. This romantic moment of self-sacrifice sure made audiences swoon!

           

Bella And Jacob Kiss:

 

 

 

The Edward/Bella/Jacob love triangle is made more complicated by this stand-out scene! Bella asks Jacob to kiss her after she is forced to deal with her feelings for him. This scene is filled with tension, emotion, and passion. Definitely the scene for Jacob fans!

 

Edward's Proposal: 

 

 

What fan doesn't remember the scene where Edward asks Bella to marry him? The build-up was perfect, with Edward's speech about old-fashioned values and the need to protect Bella's virtue. When Edward places his mothers' ring in Bella's hand, the musical score rises as she accepts his proposal. This is by far the best moment of the series so far!

 

These are just a few of the highlights from the Twilight films. With two more films still to be released, there are sure to be many more incredible moments!
