The Secret of 'Ted's Success

It appears that teddy bears are not as sweet and innocent as we once imagined, thanks to Seth MacFarlane. In his first feature film, MacFarlane has struck box office comedic gold in his R-rated flick, Ted.

Known for such animated sitcoms like "Family Guy" and "American Dad", MacFarlane is no stranger to pushing people’s buttons and thinking outside of the box when it comes to comedy. He has found success on the small screen for many years, but Ted is his first attempt at a motion picture.

In the film Ted, Seth Macfarlane explores every child’s wish: that their beloved stuffed animal would come alive. However, MacFarlane takes this concept to the next level. Mark Wahlberg plays John Bennett, who had this wish come true; however, he is now all grown up and so is his stuffed bear, Ted.  Wahlberg has a girlfriend in the movie, played by Mila Kunis, while MacFarlane lends his voice to the now raunchy and pot-smoking stuffed animal.

This film not only has a clever and funny plot line, but the creative chemistry between the actors is undeniable. Kunis, who plays Meg in "Family Guy", has been working with MacFarlane for several years now. She also acted alongside Wahlberg in the film Max Payne. The friendship off-screen between these three actors is evident through their performances on screen.

Ted has hit the $54 million mark and sits in the top spot of the box office in its first week, which proves how successful this film has been. I believe Ted will prove to be one of the funniest films to come out this year. I mean, how can you top a comedy involving Mark Wahlberg and a talking stuffed bear? You can’t.
