Ever since Adele’s claim to fame in the U.S. back in 2008 with her hit debut album, 19, it seems like there is a new resurgence of pop music icons imported from across the pond.
Be on the lookout for these young, fresh, up-and-coming U.K. stars about to make waves here in the U.S.!
Olly Murs -- Like so many other popular British artists, Mr. Murs became hugely successful after competing on "The X Factor". Although he was the runner-up in the 2009 season, his debut album went double-platinum in the U.K., and his sophomore effort went all the way to #1 on the charts. Besides being a highly charismatic musician, Murs also co-hosts the behind-the-scenes program "The Xtra Factor" with Caroline Flack, and is set to tour the U.S. this summer with One Direction.

Cher Lloyd -- Another "X Factor" alumnus, Cher Lloyd’s go-getting and energetic music is starting to become more and more widely listened to Stateside, especially after her recent performances at SXSW. Her fan base is known simply as Brats, and that’s because her punky and feisty attitude is apparent in all of her hits, like "Want U Back", "With Your Love", and "Swagger Jagger". After placing fourth on "X Factor", her debut album, Sticks + Stones, made it to the Top 5 in the U.K.

Rita Ora -- This West London native, who is known for her platinum blonde locks, loads of swagger, and stellar vocal ability, is currently signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label. Citing Gwen Stefani as one of her major influences, her fusion of pop and hip-hop is already bringing in comparisons to other industry heavyweights, most notably Rihanna. After considering RiRi’s immense success in the music market, the future is looking bright for Ora, whose debut album is set to be released sometime later this year. Oh yeah, and she’s also appearing on Coldplay’s European tour. Did we not mention the future is also busy for Ora?
