The Black Eyed Peas

Is this The End of the Black Eyed Peas? Yes. Sort of. Actually, no. Confused? I was too, until I caught up with the latest on the band at a super-secret listening party in Santa Monica - where fans and celebs partied it up as will.i.am spun the beats of The E.N.D.

I actually can't tell you where we were, not because it was that super secret but because my friend picked me up and when I'm not driving I don't pay attention. Security was tight enough, however, to deny access to cameras. And phones. Seriously, no phones! I had a slight panic attack but made it through the night without a twitter.

Happily, The E.N.D. stands for The Energy Never Dies. It is a tribute to the ongoing and ever evolving eclectic entourage that defines the band. As of 2009, the group is composed of Will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie.

This is what continues to make the band so intriguing; they keep changing it up.

Their latest offering, Boom Boom Pow puts the gang back on track with a dance floor smack down. Most interestingly, as they continue to evolve and diversify, they manage to further define their unique sound. We heard several other tracks from the fourth coming album out June 9 at our swank listening party; the songs are upbeat, up-tempo, unexpected and fresh - yet classic Peas at the same time.

Back again and here to stay, The Black Eyed Peas are What's Hot!
