The Best Music Videos of 2012... So Far!

Can you believe that 2012 is already halfway done? We can’t! It seems like it all just started yesterday!

It’s been a fantastic whirlwind of a year so far, especially for music. So many good songs have been released and so many new acts are taking over the music scene, it’s almost too hard to keep track sometimes. So, we've decided to make it easier on all of you music lovers out there.

Do your ears (and eyes) a favor, and enjoy this nice little list of -- so far -- the best music videos of 2012.

“Take Care” – Drake ft. Rihanna: Drizzy knows just how to make a deep and artistic video. Paired with once-rumored girlfriend RiRi, this video makes everyone wonder if they really are an item. Not that that’s a bad thing, because they look PERFECT together!

“Starships” – Nicki Minaj: Everyone’s party anthem of the summer, this video does indeed do a good job of making us want to join Minaj on a trip to the beach-each to get away-way.

“Somebody That I Used to Know” – Gotye ft. Kimbra :  The breakup song of the year, this bold and artsy video portrays Gotye and newcomer/collaborator Kimbra belting out their hearts to each other, wearing nothing but paint. And even though we all hate bitter breakups, it’s hard not to like and sing along to this song.

“Boyfriend” – Justin Bieber: This Mike Posner-written tune is every teenage girl’s dream. Who doesn’t want Justin Bieber to be their boyfriend?

“Where Have You Been” – Rihanna: RiRi, in addition to dominating this list, has been queen of the charts and the dance floor this year. This being the 22nd Top 10 hit of her career, “Where Have You Been” is a track that has everyone moving in the vein of the first dance-tinged hit single from the Talk That Talk album, “We Found Love”.

“One Thing” – One Direction: Already being called the band that has taken over the world, these five U.K. imports are in the midst of their sold-out North American tour. Fans everywhere are swooning over the melodic and oh-so appealing hit “One Thing”.

“Princess of China” – Coldplay ft. Rihanna: Coldplay’s Chris Martin joins Rihanna for this video that imitates all the action of the kung-fu films of yesteryear. With RiRi looking gorgeous in geisha-chic and Chris looking like a kick-butt ninja warrior, this music video is absolute perfection.

“We Are Young” – Fun. ft. Janelle Monae: In many ways, this has definitely been the song of the year. Radio stations love this jam that features Nate Ruess’s unique vocal ability and Janelle Monae’s quirky musical talents. Who doesn’t know the words to this song by now?

“Mercy” – G.O.O.D. Music: The amount of swag in this music video is almost too much to handle. With verses by Big Sean, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, and G.O.O.D. Music founder himself Kanye West, “Mercy” is just one of those songs that will have even the most novice of hip-hop fans bobbing their hands in appreciation.

So, didn’t you enjoy taking a musical journey of the best of the best of 2012? And that’s only the first half of the year!

We can’t wait for the rest of 2012 to unfold so that we can see all of what the music world has to offer! What were some of your favorites from this year so far?
