“Gossip Girl” is in its final stretch, and although it is very sad for us to have to say goodbye to one of the most beloved and fabulous of television casts to have ever graced our television sets, it's nice to see it ending on such a good note, and, with the premiere of the final season coming October 8, we still have a lot to look forward to from the gorgeous and well-dressed ensemble of New York socialites.
With the series finally coming to a close, we had but only one question in mind: where would we be without “Gossip Girl”?
The television show was firstly based off a series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, which centered around a group of privileged trendsetters that made the Upper East Side of Manhattan their playground.
The TV series, and its superstar cast, have garnered many accolades; most notably, the show always sweeps the Teen Choice Awards in many different categories on a yearly basis.
Fashion is always a shining point in the series, of course. What other cast is as chic as the cast of GG? None. And how often do you overhear a conversation wherein a girl says about her outfit “I was channeling my inner Blair Waldorf”? In this day and age, a lot.
The cast, like their characters, have become genuine elite in the Hollywood scene, with Blake Lively becoming a style and fashion icon, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, and Chace Crawford becoming go-to actors for big screen roles, and Taylor Momsen crossing over into a rock music starlet. Other superstars in the series include Ed Westwick, Kristen Bell (as the voice of “Gossip Girl”), and Michelle Trachtenberg.
So, to answer our question, where would be without “Gossip Girl”: We’d definitely be in a pretty boring, bland, and less-than fabulous place.
Make sure to catch the premiere of the 6th and final season of “Gossip Girl” on Monday, October 8 at 9pm on The CW!
