Even in spite of the rise of online content, magazines remain a staple in most households, beauty salons, dentists offices, etc. Besides just being a great way to keep in touch with the rest of the world, and give perspective to the news and stories we hear about the most, magazines are, in their own way, an art form.
Especially the glossy, sparkling, and oh-so glamorous covers that people first see when walking by the newsstands.
Magazine covers are such an essential part of the pop culture mechanism, it’s hard to imagine a world without them. I mean, what exactly is the fun of magazines like Vogue or Rolling Stone if we don’t see some of our fave popstars and bands on the cover of them in the first place? Besides, artists who are able to land covers on magazines like these continue to represent geniune, viable milestones in their careers. That's just something the interwebs can't match!
Let’s take a look back at some of our absolute favorite and most fashionable magazine covers from recent pop culture history!
Ryan Gosling for GQ – January 2011 (above)
Hey girl... The classically handsome face of every woman’s dreams donned the cover of one of the world’s most highly-read style guides for men in a Ralph Lauren suit back in January of last year. Can you say SWOON?
Kristen Stewart for W – September 2011

Say what you want about Twilight’s K-Stew, but she looks absolutely flawless on the cover of W’s 2011 fashion issue, where her stylish hair and stunningly gorgeous eyes frame the perfect Max Mara wool sweater that we would all die to have in our own wardrobe.
Beyoncé for Harper’s Bazaar – November 2011

Big star (Beyoncé) + Big Designers (Ferragamo & OMO Norma Kamali) = one of Bazaar’s fiercest covers. Beyoncé is a vision of heaven as she displays big style and big hair on the cover, and, oh yeah, it was all while she was still pregnant!
Lana Del Rey for Russian Interview – February 2012

With a pop star as gorgeous as Lana, all you really need is simply her face and it will be an amazing photo, such is the case with one of this year’s earlier issues from the Russian version of Interview Magazine.
Blake Lively for Elle – March 2012

One of the best things about Lively is that she can pull off being absolutely beautiful without that much effort, and on the cover of this year’s March issue of Elle, she showcases her blonde ambition and all that is great about being chic (all while wearing a dress from another pop culture fashion icon, Victoria Beckham).
Justin Bieber for V Magazine – Spring 2012

Who better to put on the music issue of V Magazine than probably the biggest teen heartthrob in the world? With his puppy-dog eyes and high-fashion swag, all in black and white, we can’t help but have our teen music-loving hearts skip a beat every time we see this cover.
Lady Gaga for Vogue – September 2012

Lady Gaga IS Vogue. The world’s biggest style icon, whatever she wears is coveted by millions worldwide, and she always has the spotlight on her. It only seemed natural to put Gaga on the cover of Vogue’s September issue, the biggest and most-highly respected published fashion magazine in the world.
