The 5 Best Spots for a Basket o' French Fries in L.A.!

Hollywood sure has its way with the French fry. They’ll serve ‘em skinny, fat, curly, truffle-coated, aioli-splattered, but we love them no matter what! Have you ever had a bad French fry? If you have, be sure to tell us in the comments below! Here are my Top 5 favorite spots for fries in this sprawling metropolis that is Los Angeles.
1. The Fat Dog (pictured above)
Located in West Hollywood on Fairfax, The Fat Dog serves up regular fries, sweet potato fries, and rainbow fries (a mixture of both!). These fries are skinny, but not too skinny. They are salty, but not too salty. And they are just your pretty not-to-greasy-but-just-enough-grease French fry. On a side note, can I just mention that their Half-Roasted Mary’s Farm “Free-Range” Organic Chicken is also to die for?

Okay, so this might not be strictly Hollywood. Located in about 19 states over the country, we kind of feel sorry for the folks living without Jack In The Box. How are these fries different then any other fast food joint? They are curly! And seasoned! And seriously fried! TIP: You can order these fries in a kid size, and according to their Website, they’re about 199 calories. Not too bad for a salty treat!

Located in Los Angeles and Santa Monica, Father’s Office is one of the best gastropubs EVER! They have two options -- You can order a “basket” of frites, topped with garlic parsley aioli (yum!), or you can get a “basket” of sweet potato frites, topped with roasted garlic and cabrales blue cheese aioli (yum yum!). Grab your keys and head on over, they are just that good!
4. Wurstkuche

Located in Downtown L.A. and in Venice, Wurstkuche is the one-stop shop for all things sausage. And, of course, they have an amazing French Belgian fry to go with all that meat! Their fries come with a ton of different options. First of all, they offer 10 different dips to go with your fries. So, move over Ketchup, Wurstkuche has some serious competition. You can also get a white truffle oil glaze on your fries for an extra $2. Um, how fast can you say YES PLEASE!?
5. Eveleigh

It’s necessary to include one Hollywood-chic restaurant in this group, and Eveleigh wins. Eveleigh, located on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, serves up some amazing French fries. They are skinny like a McDonalds fry, but they come seasoned and topped with a dollop (yes, I said dollop) of a truffle aioli cream sauce. You won’t even need ketchup.
Okay, let the cravings begin! Let us know some of YOUR favorite local French fry spots, in the comments below!
