First off, we know Taylor specifically uses Kinerase products, revealed as part of her flawless skin secrets.
Taylor also has a pocket-sized secret beauty weapon: Benefit Bad Gal Lash. This is said to be one of the country cuties “must have” beauty essentials!
It seems the young superstar is also following the big trend in beauty right now, all natural flower power! Products like AHAVA Mineral Botanic Velvet Cream Body Wash are also favored by Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman, while Leighton Meester digs Decleor Hydra Flora.
I talked to beauty expert Jeannine Morris to get the 411 on Hollywood’s beauty bloom. Why are companies plucking these ingredients? “Plant extracts are used in skin care products to treat and prevent different conditions such as acne, fine lines, inflammation, dry skin and even eczema,” Jeannie explains. “They’re very safe and gentle on the skin.”
The products you should look for “depends on the skin condition,” Jeannine tells me. For example, she says, “When talking about plant extracts, cocoa butter and olive oil are two of the most common to help prevent and treat dry skin, whereas aloe vera, jojoba and cucumber are widely used as ingredients to help ease skin inflammation.”
These eco-friendly products also generally have labels that say “paraben free,” but not many people really even know what that means.
“Parabens are chemicals that many cosmetic, pharmaceutical and some food companies use as preservatives,” Jeannie explains. “There has been a continued debate over whether or not these products should be preservative free. Many beauty companies have found ways to take the parabens out of their products and substitute them with all natural ingredients. Due to possible links of parabens with breast cancer and other health hazards, the trend of eliminating parabens will continue.”
Get your beauty on, naturally! These products are great at home for everyday use, so if you want to really pamper yourself - go all the way. “Everyone needs to take time out of their busy schedules for themselves,” she says. “I suggest spoiling yourself and escaping to the spa. Book a traditional Swedish massage. It’s the most gentle and relaxing. Your masseuse will pamper you with a light rub down, get out all of your knots and make sure your nice and stretched out at the end. It’s true bliss.”
Another tip from yours truly: A manicure/pedicure is the most relaxing and thrifty way to get a little pampering. Don’t book at the spa, but a nails only salon, one that’s recommended or has a good rating online; they’re the cheapest and generally have excellent service.
