Different ways to get down and get funky. ENJOY
-Gnarls Barkley "Going On"-
How great is the dancing? It makes me happy and works surprisingly well with the song. I would never have expected this video to accompany it. It's totally unanticipated and I always appreciate when an artist can deliver something new and fresh without resorting to extremes. And I'm really into the Jamaican-ness.
-Feist "1234"-
I know everyone's probably already seen this and that it was in the effing ipod commercial but that's just because it's awesome. I mean, Feist is in a blue sequin jumpsuit with people dressed in all colors of the rainbow dancing around her. And she gets to crowd surf them all. I love the shot where they fall like a spiral of dominos. They look really happy and into it. I want some of whatever these kooks are taking. -Daft Punk "Around the World"-
Michel Gondry directed this. Man is a genius, and my reaction to everything I've ever seen of his is "how'd he do that??" Except this; in this case it was "huh? I don't get it"¦" Don't get me wrong, I really like it and think it's rad. But I don't get it. I watched it a few times searching for meaning or just anything that could help me make sense of what's going on here. I really don't have any explanations for you. I got nothin'. Sorry. I just like it. It's totally bizarre. And as far as I can tell, lacks any narrative or general concept or theme, save for each group's movements corresponding to specific sounds and beats of the song. I think that's called dancing. Maybe that's the point, and there really is no larger meaning. Thoughts? I dare you to bust these moves at the next party you're at. -Emily Green, YH Staff Editor
