Style Over Comfort: In Defense of Uggs, Crocs, & Vibrams

Celebs often get hammered by critics for their style choices, but it's hardly fair to expect everybody to look red-carpet ready 24/7.
I am, in fact, guilty of making my own questionable footwear choices by proclaiming my love for Vibram Five-Finger shoes right here on YH.
Vibrams are the world's first and only shoes with toes. The fabric is very flexible, so they fit comfortably even if you have wonk toes; 2 of mine are crooked from breaking them as a child and my parents wouldn't let me get cosmetic foot surgery. Parents; right, you guys? They just don't understand!
But I digress. It's about the feel, not how they look. Vibrams are built for performance. It feels like walking barefoot, so the mission is accomplished.
If you've ever dared to try on a pair of Crocs, despite their ungodly appearance, they're mega-comfortable. It's like a footgasm.
So let's give Ashley a frigging break. Uggs may not be the cutest boots ever (a statement itself that is open to subjectivity), but they are wonderfully warm and cozy. Like when a cat falls asleep on your lap.
Despite all the haters, these trends are likely to continue. In a world of binding party clothes, pinching undergarments, clunky jewelry, earlobe-stretching earrings, and WORST OF ALL toe-crippling stilettos, sometimes comfort just has to win over style.
To those with sensitive eyes, here's a solution: avert your gaze!
