Storybrooke is About to Get a Lot More Crowded

The population of Storybrooke on ABC’s fairytale hit, “Once Upon a Time”, is about to grow once again. The creators of the series have revealed that Mulan, Captain Hook, Sleeping Beauty, Prince Phillip, Jack (of “Jack and the Beanstalk” fame), and Sir Lancelot will all be joining the series next year. Irish actor Colin O’Donoghue ("The Tudors") has been confirmed to star as the outrageous Captain Hook, who has been shown in clips as breaking into Mr. Gold’s (aka Rumplestilskin, played by the great Robert Carlisle) antique shop to retrieve a certain hook. Jamie Chung (The Hangover 2) has been confirmed to star as the tough warrior Mulan, Sarah Bolger ("The Tudors") as Sleeping Beauty, noble royal Prince Phillip will be portrayed by “Pretty Little Liars” star Julian Morris, and “Teen Wolf” star Sinqua Walls will portray the courageous Sir Lancelot.

And that’s just the beginning. Characters from the tales of Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Rapunzel have all been rumored to make appearances, predominantly Aladdin, Jafar, and Ariel. There is also a chance that we will be off to see the wizard -- the Wonderful Wizard of Oz! That’s right, apparently a few of the characters from the classic tale by L. Frank Baum will also make an appearance.

The creators have also stated that the identity of Henry’s (Jared Gilmore) father will be revealed, a fact that his birth mother Emma (Jennifer Morrison) has held from him. (Any bets on which fairy tale he might be from?) And expect the evil Cora (Barbara Hershey), mother of the Evil Queen, aka Regina (Lana Parrilla), to make another appearance, along with Maleficent (Kristin Bauer van Straten) -- who did not necessarily die.

After the wave of magic washed over Storybrooke at the end of Season One, the town is now a physical mess that needs to be rebuilt. The season is also set to center around the idea of redemption, as many characters will remember things about themselves that they have long forgotten.

Which of the new characters are you most excited about seeing? And which fairy tale characters would you like to see pop up in Storybrooke? I personally still want to meet Baloo from The Jungle Book, whom I think should be voiced by John Goodman.
