Take note you steak lovers in Los Angeles .there is a new steakhouse in town. The One Group, a New York based company, is responsible for opening such high profile venues as One-Sunset , Coco de Ville, Kiss and Fly and Tenjune. The company, which currently operates in New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and soon will expand into Chicago, has just recently brought its premiere New York steakhouse to La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles, and reviews are already in that it is truly a culinary delight.The menu is not just all meat and potatoes, however. Executive Chef, Todd Mark Miller, has created a menu that includes visionary salads like crab, melon and avocado fach, foie gras French toast, shrimp rice krispies and parmesan truffle fries. Still not enticed? Head Chef, Larry Greenwood, who has worked in the kitchens of Boa and The Standard, two top restaurants in La La Land, has added to the menu with his own unique dishes, including tuna tartare with blood orange and pan-seared scallops topped with carmelized miso sauce. Also on the menu are dishes such as lamb porterhouse, snapper in brown butter and tuna with potato puree. For those who prefer to keep to the basics when they eat, the restaurant of course lives up to its name with its main attraction, the steak! Cuts of beef come in petite, medium and large (up to 34 oz) sizes.What is a good meal without some wine? STK features a wine list of 150 light, medium or full bodied wines. The wines come from a range of producers, from places undiscovered in California to mainstays like Opus One to renowned French Pauillacs. If you aren't much of a wine drinker, the restaurant also offers a number of cocktail creations.Because STK is in Los Angeles, a city known for its image, the designer of the restaurant, Lionel Ohayon, had a huge task in front of him, the main goal being to create a sexy steakhouse. Ohayon was an obvious choice, as he founded the design firm, ICRAVE, which is known for creating such popular, glamorous, celebrity heavy hangouts in Hollywood such as Hyde Lounge and Villa Lounge. Ohayon created a main dining room with high ceilings and banquette style seating, which is meant to provide a more social atmosphere. The center of the venue contains an outdoor atrium and bar, an open air ceiling and a DJ booth.All together, the restaurant is a perfect setting for VIP events and the stars have definitely come out to play and socialize at STK. Celebrities like Kanye West, Beyonce, Lance Bass, Janet Jackson, Rihanna and Owen Wilson have all been spotted there. As a matter of fact, the restaurant has gained so much buzz that they are now booked for enough events to take them through awards season. STK officially opened its doors this month and is a must to try if you are a steak lover or just the adventurous type that likes to try out new and unique culinary creations.
