Spend a "Summer with the Stars"!

Trying to plan a beachy summer trip? Here’s an opportunity to take a vacation that will double as helping out a good cause! Summer With the Stars in Riveria Maya, Mexico, is a celeb-filled weekend that supports the charity Little Kids Rock, which aims to raise awareness and money to keep music classes and creative opportunities within schools.

The event will be held June 18 through June 22 at the gorgeous resort Aventura Cove Palace, alongside Alliance Connection, where you can swim, snorkel, and kayak at a moment's notice. From the weekend you can expect musical performances, pool parties, a red carpet for photo opps, a karaoke contest, and even a Beach Olympics. The whole family is welcome; one night, there’s a teen disco for anyone underage.

Popstar! Magazine will be on hand to cover the weekend, and Alfonso Ribeiro of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" will be hosting the event. You can expect to also see Adrian R'Mante ("Suite Life of Zack & Cody"), Chris Galya ("Jessie"), Daniel Curtis Lee ("Zeke & Luther"), Kiowa Gordon (Twilight), Rick Malambri (Step Up 3D), Tyler Blackburn ("Pretty Little Liars"), and a few "American Idol" alums such as Aaron Kelly (Season 9), Blake Lewis (Season 6), Karen Rodriguez (Season 10), Tim Urban (Season 9), and Michael Johns (Season 7).

A fun trip plus supporting a great nonprofit? Sign me up! Little Kids Rock donates instruments to schools in need and currently serves more than 85,000 kids, which is awesome when you consider that kids who play instruments are more likely to go to college. The program doesn’t just drop off instruments though; teachers are trained to provide music classes that focus on the popular styles of music that kid are already familiar with (and that they like, of course!). They learn how to write their own music, record it, make CDs, and even make music videos! Sounds better than any music class I had, can I join?

You can purchase tickets for the trip and enter to win a free one at www.summerwiththestars.com. Keep up with the event on Twitter and Facebook.
