Should you Botox? |

Botox, its Hollywood's worst kept secret! It's been widely used for so long; the question might not be should you get it, but when?
This is the deal: Everybody gets lines on their faces when they make expressions, even babies. Botox is intended for use on lines that remain when the muscles are at rest. I just wanted to clear up any confusion, because your face is supposed to move.
The problem with overly aggressive Botox is that it looks unnatural and frozen. That's not how it's supposed to look! Especially if you start erasing those little lines early, Botox can be almost invisible.
According to every professional I've spoken to and report I've read (like a real journalist without a self-serving agenda!), the sooner a patient starts Botox, the less chance the skin has to form deep-set lines. Essentially, the wrinkles never have a chance to develop. Win!
WARNING: Just because Botox is easily accessible doesn't mean it is without risk. There are some off-label uses (not approved by the FDA) that can be dangerous and not everybody with access to Botox should be poking people with needles.
GET IT RIGHT: Before you have anything done, do a little research (you'll find how Botox has been used medially since the 50's) and then schedule a free consultation at an office where you've been recommended by a friend or professional. If an office won't take 5 minutes to speak with you before you make a purchase, don't go there! When you talk with the doctor, express any concerns and schedule the injections for a later date if you're unsure.
