Disney and Nickelodeon have proven to be a good start for many actors and Shia LaBeouf is no exception. He became known for his starring role in the Disney Channel series Even Stevens, and is moving on to play roles in Transformers and the latest installment of Indiana Jones.
Born in California to hippie parents, Jeffrey LaBeouf and Shayna Saide, Shia says that he was acting when he came out of the womb. At the tender age of 10, Shia started his performing career doing stand-up at local comedy clubs in Los Angeles.
He found his agent by flipping through the Yellow Pages and booked his first role shortly thereafter. His role on Even Stevens won him a Daytime Emmy.
After appearing in the box office success Holes, Shia was featured in the HBO documentary show Project Greenlight which chronicled the making of his first independent film. He, then, went on to appear in films such as Constantine and I Robot. In 2006, he was cast in the star-studded cast of Bobby in which called for Shia's first nude scene when he strips naked while on an LSD trip.
Shia's thriller Disturbia came out in April of 2007 and will be followed by roles in The Transformers: The Movie and Indiana Jones IV. He also just appeared on legendary Saturday Night Live. In just a few short years, Shia's career is booming and critics are predicting him to be a huge film star in 2007. This edgy actor pulls off many roles and proves that he was destined for stardom that came quicker for him than some. Shia says that the most surreal moment yet was driving through Los Angeles and seeing his name on a billboard and getting a phone call from Steven Spielberg at the same time. We're pretty sure there will be many more of those moments for him.
