Quite the woman of all trades, Serena Williams is earning recognition both on and off the courts. Although she is most commonly known for her killer tennis skills, Serena is also noted as being a fabulous fashionista and entertainer. From a family with five girl siblings, both she and her sister Venus have been competitively crushing it on the courts since their early childhood.

It all started when Richard and Brandy Williams moved their young daughters from Michigan to a suburb in Compton. In search and hope of better life opportunities, Richard believed that involving his daughters in sports could create this lifestyle. Lo and behold, Serena managed to win her first tennis tournament at age four. Throughout the next six years she continued to practice and compete, winning 46 of the 49 tournaments she entered. It was only a matter of time until both sisters took a turn at winning American World #1 ranked female tennis player, first older sister Venus, then Serena. Despite an ongoing knee injury, Serena continues to compete, place, and win in events such as the Australia Open, French Open, Wimbledon as well as the Olympics. In fact, both Williams sisters picked up a Gold Medal playing doubles at the Sydney Olympics in 2004. In 2005, Tennis magazine ranked Serena as the 17th best player in the past 40 years and her serve is currently known as one of the best in the women's game.

Not only athletically gifted, Serena was blessed with her own unique style sense. On more than one occasion, this young lady has caused recognition for her outfit as much as her game. Amongst her unusual and colorful outfits, she has been spotted competing in a leather looking cat suit as well as a denim skirt and boots. Now taking her style into stores as well, Serena has developed a line called Aneres, aka her first name spelled backwards. She plans to sell these designer items in Los Angeles and Miami boutiques.

In addition to the talents above, Serena has also made numerous debuts in print as well as television and film. Perhaps you saw her showing off her sexy side for a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. Or maybe you remember her and her sisters appearance in the tennis episode of The Simpsons. If those still aren't ringing any bells, she is also recognized from her 2005 ABC Family reality show, an appearance in Common's music video called I Want You, as well as guest starring on ER, My Wife and Kids, and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.

It seems that while Serena has already accomplished enough for a lifetime, this 27-year-old has a lot more in the making. We guess Dad was more than right when he thought his daughters had a great future in sports. The world and her fans can't wait to see what this athlete, designer, and starlet serves up next!
