If you’re a romantic, you probably already know the sweet, sweet sounds of Sade. If you’re scratching your head all like, “Huh?” don’t worry, I’m only SILENTLY judging you. Here’s the 411 on the soft, sultry music-maker with a brand new album to add to your collection. Because it has been 8 years since releasing the last album, let’s take a refresher (or introductory) course, shall we? Although she’s known world-wide simply as “Sade,” (pronounced “sha-day”) the name is in fact that of the band. Born Helen Folasade Adu, her role is that of lead vocalist; as the only female in the band she’s the soul figurehead. None of the other members appear in videos or on the album covers. To further complicate things, she changed her name to “Sade Adu.” Confusing! That’s why most people just think of and refer to her as, simply, Sade. *WHEW* Glad I could clear that up for everybody! Sade is perhaps best known for ‘No Ordinary Love’
Sexy, right you guys? It just screams “make-out music.”
Sade mixes elements of soul, pop, jazz, R&B, quiet storm, soft rock, alternative, funk, easy listening, and adult contemporary; but it is her silky voice that sets the sound apart.
After a long absence from the music scene, Sade returns with ‘Soldier of Love.’
The music speaks for itself. Get to know, get to LOVE.
