Ryan Gosling Easter Egg Hunt Sweeps Manhattan!

Easter Egg hunts are usually a young person’s game, but different variations pop up when adults are hoping to carry on the more fun aspects of the holiday. Until now, the most adult version I’ve heard of was a Jell-o shot egg hunt, but  thanks to a mysterious Twitter user in New York, we have the Ryan Gosling Easter Egg Hunt. Seriously.

Said person (who is supposedly advertising copywriter Jenna Livingston) took on a Twitter account using the Gosling name and photo (@GoslingEaster) and then tweeted clues to locations around the Lower East Side of Manhattan where eggs were hidden. About 200 eggs were stashed around the area in places like trees, ATM machines, and fire hydrants.

Each egg was filled with a photocopied photo of Ryan from The Notebook as well as little notes saying things like, “Hop on over to my house already” or “I’m dipping myself in chocolate for you”. Yowza. The lucky hunters were then instructed to Tweet a photo and location of their egg to interact with the other people playing along. It’s all a little odd, but my own Easter highlight was getting my car washed, so I can’t really talk.

It’s unclear whether anyone involved really thought this was Ryan’s doing, but it didn’t seem to factor into the fun.  The Twitter page had 300 followers by the end of the day, and the egg hunt was enough of a hit that next year it will be extended to the outer Boroughs to include more people. Sure makes Ryan look good... not that he needs it! He recently saved a journalist who stumbled out into New York traffic and was almost hit by a car. Lucky lady.
