Rock Reunion Hits (& Misses)

When we say goodbye to musical icons that helped us through out childhood, our teenage years, and every other major phase of our lives, it is a very emotional time. We pray that one day these legends will return, with power and force to take over the music charts once again!

I am sure we can all admit that there has been a handful of bands that have come back stronger than ever. One band in particular that still managed to sell out arenas across the U.K. in a matter of minutes 15 years after breaking up is none other than the legendary Take That. Although Take That reunited before 2010, it was never really classified as a "full" reunion until bad boy Robbie Williams was officially announced as part of the comeback. For the first time in 15 years, as an aid for the Help for Heroes charity, the newly-reunited Take That were back performing together in front of 60,000 people at Twickenham Stadium in England. And that was just the start of a sold-out tour that had every mother, daughter, and even grandmother back pasting up the posters of the handsome five-some!

More recently, pop sensations Steps made a return to the big stage, filming their journey for their Sky Living TV documentary. The band shed blood, sweat, a lot of tears, and even more body weight to be ready for the huge reunion tour that is taking place this year. Fans around the nation have all bought their tickets to see the band cause some serious "Tragedy". With the members not looking as fresh and young as they used to, it will be exciting to see the outcome and whether they really do have what it takes to make a real comeback.

Sometimes reunions aren’t all smooth sailing. There may be that one member that feels like his/her stardom days are over and refuses to come back, or the "we just aren’t ready" excuse!

Rock icons Van Halen recently announced that they would be reuniting for a U.S. summer tour, with over 30 dates across the whole of America. Unfortunately, the hype was short-lived after they decided to postpone the tour with no definite reason, but rumors suggest some serious tension within the band. Guess we will have to sit back and wait to see if the these classic rock gods conquer the stage or just crash and burn!

Rock bands are always trying to relive their mullet crazy days by making comebacks, and some are certainly more successful than others. Black Sabbath in particular did not make the cut this time around on the hottest band list! Performing without drummer  Bill Ward, the tension in this band is certainly the only thing hot about them. If fans want to see the "real" band, then looks like they might have to pass on this reunion tour!

Band reunions have always been a rocky territory -- some come back bigger and better than before, and some just dig their own graves! I wonder if in 30 years time we will see One Direction or The Wanted making a comeback? All I know for certain is, that I will always be in the front row of their concerts!
