RIP Corey Haim

My childhood weeps for Cory Haim. There are some Hollywood trends that are just...totally uncool. The loss of young, talented stars is untimely and saddening.

Some might argue that an actor is only as big as their last project, but I completely disagree. You are always as good as your best movie.

As director Kevin Smith (@ThatKevinSmith) tweeted, "You gave hope to the weird & unlikely."

This much is true. Corey often played troubled or unpopular characters that triumphed in the end.

He's best known for his many movies (7 in total) with Corey Feldman; the two were inseparable on screen and off; their chemistry legendary.

As young actors, they starred together in Dream a Little Dream, License to Drive and The Lost Boys, in which he may have delivered the most epic line of his career: "My own brother, a goddamn, shit-sucking vampire. You wait 'till mom finds out!"

Classic.

While the two had a falling out, they tried to make amends on their reality show "ËœThe Two Coreys.' It wasn't great, and hinted at the problems Haim was facing later in life. He openly battled drug addiction and in real life embodied that troubled everyman we all rooted for in his early movies. If only real-life always had a happy ending.

Corey recently returned to his roots with Lost Boys: The Tribe and had several projects in post-production at the time of his death.

You gave us some great movies and many memories, Cory, you will be missed -- but never forgotten!
