If the magical tales of Narnia don't inspire daydreams of sorcery, horseback riding, flowing hair and sword fights, you might be dead inside. Time to let that little kid out of the cage and play. Good news inner children! Prince Caspian more than equals the first movie, in fact it has everything and more.Talking animals, royal eye candy, fantastic creatures and magnificent special effects collided at the El Capitan Theater earlier this week, where I was invited to an advance screening and breathlessly caught up with the famous Pevensie brood. When we last tuned in, Peter, Edward, Susan and Lucy had returned home after defeating the white witch, ultimately ruling over Narnia until they reached old age. Time shifted as they walked back through the wardrobe and they discovered they'd only been gone mere minutes. That's magic! In this new adventure, dream date Ben Barnes, as Prince Caspian, summons the fab four in a time of need and they're supernaturally displaced back into the fanciful realm of Narnia. Oh right, but its thirteen-hundred years later. Remember the time shift thing? Yah.

Therefore it's a whole new ballgame; an entirely new set of characters, new plot twists, and what many have actually called a better movie than the original. A wonderfully fun movie for sure.

On a final note, what I love about Disney is that they always go big. As we were seated for the screening, a gentleman dressed in a tuxedo played an organ made to look like it was part of a forest, complete with rocks at the base, tree trunks, leaves, even butterflies. Shifting keys and turning plastic knobs to create beats and sound effects, he played every animated movie theme song by heart without any sheet music whatsoever. You would not believe how complicated some of those songs are to play solo on the organ! And yet he did. One man show. Like magic!--Wes
