P!nk Gives Nate Ruess a Good "Reason" for a Duet

P!nk has been on quite a roll lately.

Granted, she’s been keeping plenty busy, knocking out and dropping albums steadily over the last decade, but for some reason, her latest effort, The Truth About Love, is really hitting home with a lot of people, winning all kinds of accolades and shooting straight to #1 on the charts, not just in the U.S. but in FIVE other countries as well. Not surprisingly, it’s been nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at this year’s Grammy (her third album to receive such an honor).

Her third single off the album – following hits “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” and “Try” – is “Just Give Me a Reason”, which features fun. frontman Nate Ruess as the counterpoint to P!nk’s frustrated woman in love. Two extremely powerful, Grammy-nominated artists on one track – whew! No lack of intensity here, for sure. They are two completely different singers, stylistically, but somehow it works. This could very well go down as one of those classic male-female collabos, akin to the likes of Diana Ross & Lionel Richie’s “Endless Love”, or Stevie Nicks and Don Henley’s “Leather and Lace”. Lofty company, to be sure, but both artists have earned the status I think.

The music video for “Just Give Me a Reason” is now online, and it’s, as always, lovely. Take a look and listen below!
