Matchbox Twenty first full-length studio album in 5 years, North, finally drops tomorrow, on the heels of the second single off the highly-anticipated comeback entitled "Overjoyed"... a very appropriate title as far as the band's fans are concerned! This album marks the group's return to the music scene after lengthly hiatus. The new music video for “Overjoyed” premiered last week and tells the story of a couple expecting their first child. The “I Don’t Want to Be Lonely” front man, Rob Thomas, is featured in the music video as a main character, and the story traces the relationship of the young couple from marriage all the way back to when they first meet in grade school. This single follows their first release off the album, “She’s So Mean”, which marked the band's triumphant return to Top 10 status.
Check out the videos for both "She's So Mean" and the new single "Overjoyed" below:
If you are a fan of Matchbox Twenty, you know these guys are never afraid to sing a love song, and this new album is no exception! Bandmates Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette, Kyle Cook, and Brian Yale all lived together in a house in Nashville in 2011 where they worked on the new album before once again joining forces with the Grammy Award-winning producer Matt Serletic. Thomas and Cook, in fact, dropped by the YH Studio recently to give us more scoop on their big reunion -- watch here.
The new album North hits store shelves and iTunes tomorrow, September 4.
