For those that may not know, the DigiTour is an annual live show that showcases all the hottest talents from YouTube… sort of like the Warped Tour for the online community. While we were in Austin for SXSW, we were psyched to learn that the DigiTour would be in town at the same time as us, so naturally we had to hit up some of our musical YouTube neighbors!

 

Alex Goot and Rickey Ficarelli were just two of the seven acts who rode into town to play a free show at the Mapex outdoor stage at Rusty’s, and we caught up with them both on the tour bus! Alex and his bassist gave us a tour of the bus along with some awesomely inspiring words of wisdom for any other up-and-comers out there. Then there’s Mr. Ficarelli, who showed up with his new band Wellington (named after the small South Florida town where Ricky is from… just a skip and a hop from where I grew up! Yay for the hometown boys!). This interview yielded some intriguing info, such as how YouTube stars be crushin’ on other YouTube stars! Awww…
