The New Kids Grow Up

You never thought it would happen, but it did!

The New Kids on the Block are 'reunited and it feels so good!'

Let me pause there, on the off chance you're a fetus and you've never heard of the New Kids: These dudes were the precursor to The Backstreet Boys, N*Sync and all other boy bands that followed in the wake of their massive, pre-millennium success.

The group has sold over 70 million albums, toured the world over and has been called pioneers of the boyband genre. When Jordan, Jonathan, Joey, Donnie and Danny made their big comeback live on the Today show this past May, the performance attracted one of the largest crowds in the show's concert series history. Recognize.

What's crazy/funny to me is that all the little girls who idolized them back in the day are grown women now - who scream and shout when they see them just like old times. I love it! Let that inner tween break free, girlfriends! Who cares if you're a professional business woman in her 30's now? Yell your head off like a 12-year-old maniac. Nobody from work is watching. Promise.

Everybody had their favorite, and those old crushes never really die. Sure, they're all grown up now, but isn't that part of the fun? Adult situations!

The best part of a reunion tour is that you get to recapture a bit of your youth, those carefree wild days when you're biggest worry was if you got a zit.

I remember when the band came through our area and everyone basically went freaking nuts. I'm pretty sure every girl in my school went to see them, plus some of the guys too (oh, you know I was crying with my lighter in the air singing every word of Please Don't Go Girl).

Rekindle your youthful indiscretions with NKOTB on the road through the end of November " but hurry because shows are already selling out!

Hangin' Tough,
-Wes
