Next Bond Film to Get Deeper

Yet another action packed James Bond movie is in pre-production, but this one may be a little different from what Bond fans are used to…

The 23rd 007 film titled, Skyfall, will still be filled with the usual defying actions, breathtaking locations, beautiful women, and conspiring villains, but this time, there is more to come that we have never seen before with the world-renowned spy.

Sam Mendes is set to direct, and has gone back to the Bond character that Ian Fleming wrote in the original 1953 novel Casino Royale, stating, “the character Fleming created over a number of novels was incredibly complex.” Mendes takes Bond's tough, untroubled personality as “a very conflicted character” and plans to act on that when developing Skyfall.

Many of the Bond movies ignore the inner demons that Fleming originally created in Bond’s persona and instead cover them with special effects and gadgets.

At a news conference in Istanbul, where the movie is being filmed, Mendes, alongside Daniel Craig, also said that in Fleming’s last novels, Bond was suffering from a “combination of lassitude, boredom, depression, difficulty with what he's chosen to do for a living, which is to kill. That makes him a much more interesting character, and some of those things are explored in this movie, because Daniel as an actor is capable of exploring them."

This film will be Craig’s third time as Bond, his earlier roles being 2008’s Quantum of Solace, and Casino Royale in 2006. Judi Dench will also be returning as spy chief M; a new English actress will be introduced as a field agent named Eve, played by Naomie Harris, and French actress Berenice Marlohe will be in the film as well as a character named Severine. And Javier Bardem will be doing in this film what earned him an Oscar in 2008 -- playing the bad guy.

Filming has begun and is taking place in London, Scotland, Turkey, and China; Istanbul, Turkey happens to be a repeat and was featured in From Russia With Love, the 1963 Bond movie featuring Sean Connery.

Skyfall will be released on October 26 in Britain and other locations following shortly after.

We can’t wait for it to reach the U.S. for the ultimate adrenaline-rush movie... with substance!
