Set phasers to INTRIGUE!

 

Looks like The Enterprise has set course for Inception with a pit stop in Gotham City in the brand spankin' new first official trailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness!

 

But first things first – who is this Benedict Cumberbatch dude and why isn’t he the villain in EVERY movie?? Seriously, his voice is giving me goosebumps!

 

At any rate, we’re STILL not sure who his character is and why the heck he’s so sore at Captain Kirk and Co., but there are a few juicy clues in the trailer – firstly, he obviously has some serious vendetta against the folks on the Enterprise. I’m guessing it’s a pretty fresh wound too, because he doesn’t look too much older than Kirk himself. Also, in a brief shot of Bumbercatch toward the end, we see he’s wearing an old, faded Starfleet uniform. Uh-oh, JUICY! Is he perhaps a former cadet who was turned away after extensive training? Or a former crewmember who fell in with a bad crowd (like those pesky Klingons)? Is that harlot Uhura somehow involved?

 

Well, whatever’s happening, I am in. BEAM ME UP.
