The music world was devastated by the news of Amy Whinehouse’s death just last year, but fans will now be excited to hear that another single by none other than Ms. Winehouse herself has been released. The new song, “Cherry Wine”, is a posthumous duet in collaboration with popular rapper, Nas. It is reported that Nas and Winehouse worked together in the recording studio back in 2008, and though nothing was released at that time, Nas was later featured in Winehouse’s song, “Like Smoke”, that was released on her posthumous album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures.
Apparently there is still more of Winehouse’s voice that we have yet to hear, because “Cherry Wine” will be featured on Nas’s upcoming album, Life is Good, set to release on July 17. The song blends the two artists' voices together and is executed very well. The question that has us buzzing is, is this the last we will hear from Winehouse, or are there more tracks by the iconic singer that have yet to be released?
Take a listen to "Cherry Wine" below and let us know your thoughts!
