NBC Adds "Camp" To Its Summer Schedule

The creators of “Deception” are preparing to take you to summer camp. Liz Heldens and Peter Elkoff have created “Camp”, an hour-long series centered on Little Hawk Family Camp, where parents can relax as teenagers fight, flirt, and fall in love. NBC has ordered 13 episodes of the dramedy, which will air this summer. NBC must have a lot of faith in Heldens and Elkoff to sign off on a second series from them before "Deception" has even premiered.

The show, which has been described as being in the vein of Meatballs (pictured above) and Dazed & Confused, has a cast of quirky characters in a delightfully familiar setting: summer camp. “Camp” is designed to remind viewers of the great times that they had at summer camp, as well as allow them to laugh at some of the more cringe-worthy moments from their youth.

In the meantime, NBC will premiering “Deception” this month. The network is also planning to air “Hannibal” this summer, in addition to continuing to air new seasons of “America’s Got Talent”, “The Voice”, and “American Ninja Warrior”. Sounds like a solid line-up!
