As I sit here bouncing around to A Cursive Memory for about the umpteen millionth time, I realize I pretty much love e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g about this video. Mainly because they've done something nobody else has ever done before. Make a paparazzi video I care about.Honestly, if I have to watch one more deliriously tripod-free clip of some celebrity walk down Robertson Boulevard, leave Mr. Chow or get into their car at the Ivy passing as entertainment, I'll shoot myself. Or the TV. Or both.Well, my trigger finger is safely stowed watching this vid. The band went authentic, recruiting tabloid darlings Lauren Conrad, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Juliette Lewis, Diddy, Jerry Springer, Hayden Panettiere, plus a slew of other celebrities and even an Olsen -- by stalking the paparazzi stalking them.ACM calls it bandarazzi.รน Following a bunch of Hollywood photogs around, they erratically jump into the frame of a paparazzi mob scene while their crew cranks Everything' on a ghetto blaster. The result is a hilarious video, complete with what I call the Where's Waldo Effect; band members randomly pop out from behind a shoulder or wave from a crowd. It's like spot the emo. This is the second album for the guys, who've gone from a trio to a foursome -- newcomer Dillan Wheeler joins Mark Borst-Smith, Shaun Profeta and lead singer Colin Baylen.Gentleman, I salute you! For once " finally! " someone has made a paparazzi video that's actually entertaining. Thank you ACM, thank you. --WesCheck out our exclusive interview with A Cursive Memory here.
