We’re already in the middle of the Fall season, which is a favorite for many people around the country. And for some of us, Fall means cozying up to a fire, watching the rain (and sometimes even the snow) fall against the windows, and listening to some good music.
Here’s a list of some of the best artists to listen to when you’re ready to just sit down, relax, and cozy up on those chill Fall days.
Ed Sheeran
With his laid-back, acoustic sound, paired with his silky smooth vocals, Ed Sheeran is the absolute go-to artist to listen to when you’re just chillaxing under the covers, watching the rain outside, and sipping on a steaming cup of hot chocolate.
Recommended tracks: “UNI”, “Give Me Love”, “Small Bump”, “Firefly”
Lana Del Rey
Lana’s soothing and yet oh-so haunting voice makes her a great artist to listen to anytime of the year, but it’s her unique sound that is a veritable homage to old-time, classic, and nostalgic Americana that makes it a good listen to during Fall, when things are more cozy and comfortable.
Recommended tracks: “Blue Jeans”, “Without You”, “Ride”, “National Anthem”
Taylor Swift
It’s no secret, Swift is now a certified country-pop crossover superstar. She knows how to work and re-work her sound to make it new and fresh, and because of the huge success of her recent release Red, people are now going to associate her with this time of year, since you cannot turn on a radio nowadays without hearing some of her newest singles.
Recommended tracks: “I Knew You Were Trouble”, “Begin Again”
Coldplay
One of the biggest bands of this century, Coldplay’s music personifies all that is great on a typical and beautiful Fall day. A refreshingly mellow sound with Chris Martin’s lead vocals? Makes us want to put our headphones on and run to our nearest coffee shop for a pumpkin spice latte.
Recommended tracks: “Paradise”, “Clocks", “Yellow”
Mumford & Sons
We can envision these U.K. imports, with their folksy mix of guitars and banjos, as the perfect soundtrack to a Fall day on the town, walking in our oversized, trendy trench coats down the street on our way to the subway for work.
Recommended tracks: “Little Lion Man”, “The Cave”, “I Will Wait”
John Mayer
Imagine prancing around the house on a snow day, baking cookies, watching old rom-coms, and being just a generally hyper yet lazy couch potato all day. Now, imagine all that, but while being serenaded by the very relaxed and smooth music of guitar crooner John Mayer. Yeah, we can’t help but day dream either.
Recommended tracks: “Your Body Is a Wonderland”, “Queen of California”, “Daughters”
