MIKEY GLAZER: Bubbly, Brits, and Blunt Bathe Robertson in European Sophistication (for a night)

Blunt, as in Emily Blunt. Not Snoop Dogg’s Blunt.

Beverly Hills’ high end drag of boutiques - usually littered with paparazzi and the low-end of the star spectrum out looking for them - got a touch of Brit sophistication for “The Young Victoria” premiere party on December 3.

As young Queen Victoria, Blunt’s on-screen suitor Rupert Friend (a fellow Brit) accepted congratulations over Perrier-Jouet at the Clive Christian store on Robertson.  Each of the stars’ real life suitors, “The Offices’s” John Krasinksi (Blunt) and Keira Knightly were AWOL, so the double cheek kisses went to friends in the receiving line instead.

Beyond the Hollywood royalty in attendance, there was actual royalty -  Fergie aka. Sarah Ferguson. She’s a producer of the film and the “original” Fergie, the one without the Grammys or Josh Duhamel.  (Hollywood royalty Martin Scorsese is also a producer.) Fergie’s daughter, Princess Beatrice, not only appears in the film but is a direct descendant of the Queen herself.

Since we’re only Young Hollywood and not “Young Royalty”, we are patiently waiting until December 18 to catch the film when it opens to commoners.

In the meantime, unlimited Perrier-Jouet champagne and all the “congratulations” air kisses from celebrities that tact allows kick started the evening for lots of the town’s young talent before the scene moved on to the regular Thursday night hotspots.
