Meet "Golden Voice" Ted Williams: Hollywood's Homeless Hero

It’s not every day a homeless person captures national attention and becomes an overnight star. Ted Williams had it coming.

The Columbus Dispatch featured a story on Ted that is changing perceptions about the homeless population. Sometimes my home state of Ohio really makes me proud. Go Bucks! Often cast off as the dregs of society, we often forget that transients are people too.

Like many, Ted Williams could often be seen standing by the side of the road with a sign asking for money. A closer look revealed something more than the average scenerio. "I have a God given gift," his sign reads, claiming he has a "golden voice" for radio.

In a YouTube video that has received over 4 million hits in less than three days, Ted puts his talent on display for the camera -- BLOWING MINDS. His voice is like a velvet glove rubbing your ear hole.

Users of Reddit.com rallied together, looking for ways to help Ted get off the streets. By his own admission, he landed there after a losing battle with drugs and alcohol. Now he's two years sober. He's also readily employed.

Dave & Jimmy of The Morning Zoo radio show in Columbus interviewed Ted and aim to get him a full-time job at their station.

This is why I love the internet. Ted also received other offers to help, such as donations, a cell phone, a business suit, and a website.

Dreams really do come true. *wipes tear*
