Calloo, Callay, come run away… to The CW of course. The network is developing a new "cop drama"(!) based on the Lewis Carroll classic Alice in Wonderland(!!). The new series, with the working title "Wunderland", casts Alice as a Los Angeles detective who discovers a magical world under the streets of L.A.

 

The one and only McG will be an exec producer on the new show, while Chad Hodge and Peter Johnson lend their writing skills… so, it's gotta be good right?

 

The CW seems to have made a recent habit of putting their own spin on classic stories (their new series "Beauty and the Beast" premieres October 11), which follows the recent trend of other networks taking on fairy tales and the like as the central theme to their shows ("Once Upon a Time", "Grimm", etc.). My only hope is that "Wunderland" is as enchanting as the rabbit hole in which we first fell down. Hmm… I’m becoming curiouser and curiouser.
