LRG

Lifted Research Group, otherwise known as LRG, is a clothing company that produces urban and skateboarding street wear and accessories. LRG was founded in 1999 by Jonas Bevacqua and Robert Wright and lives by the motto, "underground inventive, overground effective.ù The goal of the company is to influence the masses by bringing forward influences from the underground. Robert Wright brings years of experience to the company, as he has previously worked with top street wear brands such as Quicksilver and O'Neill. Jonas Bevacqua is the creative and financial mind behind raising the capital to start the company and the logo design. These two talented minds have built an empire, racking up their first million by 2000 and ranking #5 on the 2007 Hot 500 list of fastest growing companies in Entrepreneur magazine.LRG is constantly evolving to reflect the needs of society. In 2005, understanding that they can expand their line to reflect the interests of women, the company announced their new women's clothing line, Luxirie. The line includes signature items like crystal covered jeans and a comfortable thermal hoodie that displays metal, star-shaped detailing on the front. The line also covers six different themes, including military and western. Luxirie officially became available to the United States and Canada in 2006. That same year, LRG became more eco-friendly and began making all of their fashions from organic cotton and other natural materials. The clothing line appeals to celebrities like John Legend, Kanye West, Xzibit and Chris Brown. Jerry Ferrara from the hit HBO show, Entourage,ù even represented LRG this past season on the series, where his character, Turtle, was often seen wearing designs from the line. Even though LRG attracts those in the limelight, there are several choices available for people on a limited budget. Its style and comfort is enough to win anyone over, not to mention turning a few heads along the way. Within the past year, one of their biggest fashion statements has been their hoodies, one of which was a flashback of the 80's classic film, "Karate Kid." Remember the Kobra Kai Dojo Halloween costume? LRG recreated that theme into a hoodie and, yes, the hood even zips over your head displaying a skeleton face. LRG also currently has a version that is inspired by the hit horror film series, Friday the 13th.ùClothing isn't the only thing that LRG excels at, however. In the fall of 2006, T-Mobile launched a limited edition Sidekick III, which was designed by the clothing company and sports a green-on-green theme. The wireless provider has reported the item to be sold out. The company is also involved with the promotion of underground recording artists and sponsors a skateboarding team. LRG regularly releases compilation CDs which support and bring attention to independent, underground and up and coming recording artists that are involved in skateboarding and hip-hop cultures.LRG is "changing the game, one garment at a time," and you must see it and wear it to believe it.
