Tomorrow (October 24), Corey Feldman’s Truth Movement and G Tom Mac will take the stage at the world famous Whisky A Go Go located on the Sunset Strip. Just in time for Halloween, the show will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1987 cult classic The Lost Boys. Feldman played vampire hunter Edgar Frog in the film, and G Tom Mac wrote and performed the movie’s theme song “Cry Little Sister”.
Given that both Corey and G Tom Mac both have extremely busy schedules, it’s been hard for them to really keep in touch over the years. However, they do run into each other from time to time and may even be planning some special tricks and treats for their upcoming show!
When asked if he had any idea how big of an impact “Cry Little Sister” would have on pop culture, G Tom Mac told me that he had absolutely no clue. When director Joel Schumacher approached him to write the theme song for The Lost Boys, he loved the script and knew he wanted to write something extremely unique but thought the song might be too out there in left field. Fortunately, Schumacher saw how special it was, took a risk, and the rest is movie soundtrack history.
With two sequels to The Lost Boys and special screenings and DVD releases, both the film and the song have found new generations of fans. G Tom Mac loves seeing fans from all over the world mouthing the lyrics at his shows; Eminem even sampled “Cry Little Sister” on his song “You’re Never Over”. G Tom Mac has had songs featured in over 50 films and more than 100 TV shows, including "Gossip Girl", "Scrubs", and the new CW hit "Arrow". Be sure to check out his latest album Untame the Songs.
If you have a taste for vampires and some good music, head on over to the Whisky A Go Go on this Wednesday, October 24, at 7PM. Tickets for G Tom Mac and Corey Feldman’s Truth Movement can be purchased at www.ticketweb.com .
