LMFAO Releases New Music... Separately

We were totes bummed a few months ago at the news that our beloved LMFAO were going their separate ways, but a chat with SkyBlu eased our minds that the uncle-and-nephew duo were still on great terms and would continue to pursue new musical avenues.

Not only have they stayed true to that, but they have both simultaneously released their first solo tracks! Not surprisingly, both singles follow a similar theme, not just musically but thematically. Maybe they should have just stayed together after all?

First up, SkyBlu’s “Pop Bottles”, a beat-heavy party jam that doesn’t stray very far from the LMFAO formula… certainly no complaints here! Party music is what these guys know, and they do it oh so well, so if it ain’t broke, why fix it?

Meanwhile, on New Year’s Eve, RedFoo was busy dropping his own bubbly-themed jam, “Bring Out The Bottles” (see the connection?). Again, it’s hoppy, poppy, dancey, with just enough cheekiness to keep it on the light. It’s all about having fun.

Again, I’m wondering why these guys broke up. Sounds like you can take the boys out of LMFAO but can’t take the LMFAO out of the boys!
