Every hard working woman wants two things to cover all her fashion needs: clothing that is versatile enough to wear in the office or to hang out with friends and soft, feminine clothing for when she is in the mood to be sexy and sassy. Nobody knows those needs better than Gail Elliott, who is the creator of the clothing line, Little Joe by Gail Elliott. The label was launched in 2002, out of the New York Hamptons, and ranges from camisoles and slips to cashmere and wool knitwear. It is sexy, flattering and made for the everyday kind of woman who spends her days juggling a multitude of tasks. Gail Elliott wasn't always a fashion designer but she knows fashion better than most. She first rose to fame in the 80s, when she became one of the top models in the world. She has modeled for some of the most renowned designers of our time, and has walked the runways for Versace, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada and Marc Jacobs, among many more. She has also been featured as a print model in the most popular magazines of yesterday and today, including Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and Harpers Bazaar. Oddly enough, modeling was never something that interested this beauty until her ballet teacher talked the teenage Gail into it. At the age of 17, she was signed by an agent and went to Japan, where she learned the culture and became a trained, professional model. At 18, she came back to New York, booked her first job and the rest, as they say, is history.More than 20 years later, Gail is still going strong as a model and a spokesperson for her line. The idea for her clothing line was ultimately born out of her hectic traveling schedule. The demands of a working model often require her to check into hotel after hotel and struggle with jet lag. Gail found that she often longed for the comforts of home, including cozy clothes and the sweet scent of candles burning. When she first launched the line, she created a line of slips and camisoles that were both flattering to the figure but casual enough to lounge around the house or sleep in. Due to the success of the line, she soon expanded to include the styles she has today, such as silk and cotton dresses, tops and skirts and cashmere and wool knitwear. Her clothes have been featured in various magazines like Vogue, InStyle, Gotham, Town & Country and OK. She also offers candles in such scents as Lotus Flower, Musk, Powder Fresh and Jasmine Blossom. Her versatile yet feminine line has attracted the likes of other famous working women, such as Cindy Crawford (one of her closest friends), Naomi Watts, Sharon Stone, Jessica Simpson, Ashley Judd, Molly Sims and Elizabeth Hurley. Though the line has been seen on some of the most famous bodies in the world, it is also meant for the average woman. Any woman can create a whole wardrobe out of the line or pick different pieces for added flair to the outfit she is already wearing. Gail's line is currently available in various boutiques and department stores around the world, including the United States, Canada, UK, Japan and Benelux. For more information about the line, find a store location or order online, check out Little Joe's site at www.littlejoeny.com.
