Linkin Park Release Rockin' Music Video for "Burn It Down"

Have I told y'all lately how much I love Linkin Park? I feel like I've been too subtle. I've never been terribly demonstrative with my feelings.

So, I'd like to take this moment to remind everyone: I FREAKIN' LOVE LINKIN PARK.

Yes, I'm a late bloomer when it come to the 'Park. But better late than never, right? And I am utterly and unabashedly psyched for their upcoming album, Living Things, which drops on June 26. But, first things first - their newest single, "Burn It Down". We showed you the lyric video last month, which was cool enough by itself. Now, the visual appeal of the song is complete, as LP has finally released the official music video for their latest rockin' track.

Linkin Park reminds me somewhat of the Spielberg film A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. Musically, their music is very industrialized, with their electronic riffs and whatnot. But then you bring in Chester Bennington's angsty vocals, and it infuses the synthetic melodies with emotion, like that little robot kid in the film who was programmed to feel love.

Not that there is anything "artificial" about Linkin Park. These guys seem to have an inside scoop on something "bigger" in this world. Perhaps they themselves are not even aware of it... But I kind of feel like Linkin Park make the kind of music Rufus was talking about in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, if I may make another film analogy... the sort of music that brings and end to war and poverty and aligns the planets, that kind of thing. Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Oh well.

The music video starts out simple enough, with the band rocking out as usual inside what looks like an antechamber on the Nostromo (Alien reference there), but with this crazy looking portal-type thing hovering over them. Eventually, as expected, fire makes an appearance. And we're all thoroughly riveted.
