Linkin Park Not "Powerless" on #GivingTuesday

Finally, a hashtag that holds some real positive purpose! Everyone is in the holiday spirit lately, and now is the perfect time to throw on your winter boots, wrap yourself in your favorite scarf, grab a cup of holiday coffee, and join together for Music For Relief’s first ever #GivingTuesday.

Through Music For Relief, Linkin Park premiered a brand new video to tell the story of energy poverty and pledged to Power The World on #GivingTuesday. The video is set to Linkin Park’s new single, "Powerless", and the video is everything but -- it’s actually pretty darn powerFUL if you ask me! I’ll be the first to admit that social media consumes a lot of my time and energy, making me the perfect candidate for Music For Relief’s #GivingTuesday. Their hope is that we’ll watch the video on powertheworld.org, make donations and sign the pledge, share it with our friends and fam on Facebook and Twitter, and encourage them to hop on the donation train too. And who wouldn’t want to be part of such a great cause… I mean, come on, 'tis the season of giving!

The donations made will provide clean energy solutions to people across the globe that don’t have access to electricity. In South America, families will receive access to clean energy solutions in the form of a SOCCET, a soccer ball that can also be used as a portable generator... um, hi -- THAT’S AWESOME! Not only does the SOCCET provide a sustainable source of energy, but also promotes healthy and active lifestyles for children while building a sense of community through play. A $50 donation provides a child with one SOCCET that can benefit their entire family in their energy needs – LED lamps, fans, phone chargers, water purifiers, you name it; the SOCCET can help provide the energy they need.

All right, now I’m starting to sound like an infomercial for the SOCCET, but it’s SUCH a great cause, and it’s so easy to get involved. If you can’t donate, sign the pledge and let your voice be heard on this #GivingTuesday! Hopefully my INCRED sales pitch convinced you to check out Music For Relief and powertheworld.org, but if I didn’t do the trick, Linkin Park definitely will. Check out the video below and become a Holiday Cheermeister. Because it’s better to give than to receive, especially during the holidays in this time of need.
