We all know the Hollywood baby boom is going to eventually take over the world with an overly-privileged child army. In the meantime, stars need to look good incubating those future generals! When pregnant, women are forbidden to dye their hair due to the chemical interaction it may have with their unborn child. What’s a diva to do? If you’re a hot celebrity mom like ‘Gossip Girl’ star Kelly Rutherford, you bend the rules.

Natural beauty is great and all, but let’s not kid ourselves! Everybody wants to look their best, whether they’re paid to shine on TV or not. Now, thanks to science finally doing something important, ladies no longer have to go back to their roots when they're preggers.

Take a tip from the actress, who recently gave birth to her second child, yet managed to keep up appearances (surprise, she’s not a natural blonde). She told People that she perfectly maintained her color with the eco-friendly, semi-permanent colorant Coloursplash, which not-so-coincidentally happens to have been developed by her long-time colorist Tracy Hill.

"I just love it!” Kelly raves. “I can use it while pregnant to keep color fresh," she expla ined. "You just add water, and put it on like a shampoo."

Coloursplash is a great alternative for those looking to ditch the harsh chemicals. You definitely don’t have to be with child to use it, plus it works in a pinch since it just washes in. "It's great if you are traveling and can't get your color touched up,” Kelly adds.
